READ THE PASSAGE
Central Truth
The Lord always directs us to those He wants us to meet. We must keep our hearts and minds open to all who cross our paths. We must listen to
the Lord as to the purpose for which He has put this person in our life.
Reflections
In Acts 8:26, we read about Phillip and the Ethiopian. Their meeting was no accident. In fact, the Angel of the Lord sent Phillip to Gaza so that he would meet the Ethiopian on the road. This reminds me that our Father is constantly placing people in our lives for a purpose.Early in my retail business career, I realized that I loved the contact with the people I encountered. But at the same time, I wondered why I didn't desire to serve in a foreign country mission field. In studying his Word, I learned that there are mission fields right here in my city. My store could be the place I serve!
Looking back now, I see the people who were placed in my life were put there so I could share His love with them, and so they could share His love with me.
We have to be aware that each person we meet is there because God made that particular connection. No matter where we are, we can be a
missionary for God.
Lord, please make us aware that each person we meet is there because You gave us that connection!
Discussion Questions
- How do you feel about meeting those who take you outside your comfort zone?
- Do you feel you can share and show God's love through your actions?
- Are you kind to all you meet, even those who challenge your desire to communicate?

Glenda, This is a great word. We're called to represent Christ no matter where we are: job, family, trip, or overseas mission trip. Jesus said in John 20:21, "As the Father sent me, so I send you." When we live as sent ones he uses us in ways that we can't imagine. Thanks for a great reminder. Rod
