Central Truth
If we truly want to dwell in God's presence, then we must follow these instructions.
Reflections
God wants us to be people of integrity and righteousness. He wants us to not only live the truth, but to believe it in our heart. As I read though this, I started thinking about how God wants us to come to Him with pure hearts. God does not dwell in the presence of evil. No, we are not perfect, we are human. Yet we can strive to live consistently. We need to live with high morals and values. We cannot expect to dwell in God's presence if we are gossiping, lying, using others, and not keeping our vows.
There was a point when I truly started following God's Word and giving Him control. Suddenly, I felt this uneasy feeling when I was around things I knew were wrong. It was a feeling of disgust at blatant sin--a feeling of guilt, and a feeling of "just plain wrong".
If my human emotions can feel these things in a sinful situation; how much stronger are God's feelings of disdain for sin? He will not tolerate being around evil. He longs to dwell with us. He is extending a beautiful invitation for us to come into His presence and spend time with Him. If we try to live a consistent life in Christ, and follow these specific instructions, then we will not be shaken!
